Tai Chi

While living in Taiwan, Mr. Dunstan was introduced to one of the pearls of Chinese culture known as the ‘Internal Martial Arts’.  The internal system is comprised of four distinct, yet mutually complementary martial arts.  Trained in each of these arts Mr. Dunstan was certified as a teacher of Tai Chi.

The Tai Chi Mr. Dunstan learned, known as the 99-style, is a series of 99 movements that are performed slowly and acquired slowly.  Tai chi promotes health and integrates body and mind.  It improves concentration and, in Mr. Dunstan's view, overall happiness.

This martial art is open to all ages, both genders, and all body types.  Students of Tai chi enjoy the meditative aspect as well as the artistic.

Mr. Dunstan is pleased to introduce the first Esquimalt High School Cheng Meng Tai Chi club to our school.  Instruction is open to all members of students and staff each Friday afternoon in the theatre.

Here Mr. Dunstan is awarded two teaching certifications from Grandmaster Wang Fu Lai, who is the head of the Cheng Meng Association.  The association has schools in Taiwan, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Italy, France, England, the U.S.A., and now Canada.
